How much can you save on solar battery rebates?
Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program:
- Roughly 30% off the installed cost of an eligible home battery, applied as an upfront discount at the point of sale.
- The discount scales with battery size, so larger systems attract a larger saving.
NSW Virtual Power Plant (VPP) incentive:
- Up to $1,500 under the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme for connecting an eligible battery to an approved VPP.
- VPP integration allows you to share surplus energy while boosting grid stability and receiving financial rewards.

Who qualifies for the solar battery rebate?
- Existing solar panel system – Homes or businesses must have an active rooftop solar system. ProSolar can upgrade or install a new system if needed.
- Location – Available for residents and businesses in Lismore, Ballina, Byron Bay, Alstonville, Goonellabah, and other Northern Rivers towns.
- Battery size – Eligible systems must have a capacity from 5 kWh to 100 kWh (the federal program range).
- Accredited installer – The system must be installed by an Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP), such as ProSolar Australia.
